Six Olimpia players will play the Eurobasket

One third of the Italian National Team will be formed by Olimpia players. After the last round of decisions, Ettore Messina included among the 12 players that will play in Tel Aviv, starting on August 31, Andrea Cinciarini, Awudu Abass, Davide Pascolo and Marco Cusin. Abass and Pascolo will play in a major national teams competition for the first time. Cusin and Cinciarini are veterans.

Six Olimpia players overall will play the Eurobasket. add to the four Italians also Latvia’s Dairis Bertans and Lithuania’s Mantas Kalnietis. Only Fenerbahce (9), CSKA Moscow, Olympiacos (8) and Barcellona (7) have more players although not all the rosters are final and more things could still change. Valencia with six players have the same number of players.

Mario Fioretti will sit on the Italian bench as one of Messina assistant coaches.
