Peppe Poeta
Capo Allenatore
Born in Battipaglia on September 12, 1985, Poeta has been an assistant coach at Olimpia from 2022 to 2024 and helped the team win back-to-back Italian league championships. During the 2024/25season, his first as a head coach, he led Brescia to the Italian league championship series after finishing the regular season in third place. On November 24th, 2025, he became Olimpia’s head coach. He then managed to win the Italian Cup 2026.
HIS CAREER – During his career as a player, Poeta played in Salerno, Veroli, made his debut in Serie A with Teramo and eventually spent time at Virtus Bologna, Baskonia and Manresa in Spain, Trento, Turin, Reggio Emilia and Cremona. He played 120 games for the national team and won the 2019 Italian Cup with Turin. In 2022, after retiring, he joined the staff of the national team with which he participated in the 2023 World Cup and the 2024 Pre-Olympic tournament, and that of Olimpia Milano under Ettore Messina who coached him during his National team playing career. He started his head coaching career in Brescia in 2024 and led the team to the Italian league finals.
Alberto Seravalli
Assistente Allenatore
Alberto Seravalli, who was hired by Olimpia during the month of July 2024, started to coach in his native Ferrara. He’s been an assistant in Ferrara and Mantova before being promoted in Mantova for more than one season. In 2019 he was the assiatnt coach under Attilio Caja in Varese. He was named Varese’s head coach at the end of the 2020/21 season. Then, he moved to Virtus Bologna in 2022.
Giuseppe Mangone
Player Development Coach
Born in Modena, Giuseppe Mangone began coaching in Pallacanestro Sant’Anna Modena first with the youth teams and then in third division. Eventually, he was in Reggio Emilia both with the youth teams and as an assistant in the Italian league, then in Casale Monferrato and finally again in Reggio Emilia. As a youth national team coach, he led his team to the European championship Under 16 silver medal in 2023 and the World championship Under 17 silver medal in 2024. He reached Olimpia in the summer of 2024 as Player Development Coach.
Emilio Kovacic
Assistente Allenatore
Emilio Kovacic joined Olimpia Milan’s coaching staff in 2025. Born on January 11, 1968, in Zadar, Croatia, a member of the Yugoslavian national team that won the gold medal at the 1985 European Championships for Cadets, Emilio Kovacic moved to the U.S. in 1987 to play first at Grand Canyon University, then at Arizona State, and finally at Biola, California, until 1992. Upon returning to Croatia, he played for Zadar, Cibona Zagreb, Zrinjevac, and then back to Zadar. In 1999, he moved to Olimpia Ljubljana, Slovenia, and in 2001—for two seasons—he played in Italy for Fortitudo Bologna, ending his career once again with Zadar. As a player, he also won a European bronze medal with Croatian National Team in 1993. After embarking on a coaching career, he spent six seasons with the Phoenix Suns as an international scout and from 2019 to 2025 was at Bayern Munich as a player development coach, scout, and assistant coach.
Stefano Bertoli
Video Coordinator
Born in Brescia on December 23, 1990, Stefano Bertoli joined Olimpia in 2017 as a minibasket coach. In 2019, he coached the Under-13 and Under-14 teams for two seasons, and in 2021, he added video analyst duties to his job. He won the U13 regional title in 2022, the U14 regional titles in 2023 and 2025; in 2024, he led the Under-15 team to the national championship. He is currently the first team’s video coordinator.
Mattia Bonetti
Video Analyst
Mattia Bonetti was born in Milan on April 16, 1995. His coaching career began in the Milano suburbs. He later moved to ABA Legnano and then joined Olimpia Milano in the summer of 2019. With the youth teams, he won the Under 15 and Under 19 championships as an assistant and as head coach with the Under 13 team he won the Jr NBA League. He is part of the first team coaching staff since 2024.
Giacomo Cardelli
Video Analyst
